With over 25 years of experience across the pharmaceutical, luxury, and construction sectors, I have managed complex industrial projects and EHS programs in Europe, the US, Asia, and North Africa.
As an engineer by training, I’m known for my dynamic leadership, rigorous project management, and strong commitment to building a global culture of safety.

David Bermeo
As the co-founder and CEO of Terrafertil / Nature’s Heart, I have spent the past two decades transforming the natural foods industry in Latin America. Building an integrated business that produces, processes, and distributes organic and plant-based products, I led Nature’s Heart to become the leading plant-based brand in Latin America, ultimately joining Nestlé in 2018 as part of its global expansion. Through this journey, I have combined business growth with social and environmental impact, proving that purpose-driven companies can scale profitably.
Beyond Nature’s Heart, I actively invest in and advise innovative and disruptive companies across the food, beverage, technology, and fitness sectors, serving on multiple boards. I specialize in scaling businesses, integrating startups with multinational corporations, and driving strategic growth in high-impact industries. I am also a board member of Nature’s Heart, now the largest plant-based brand within Nestlé’s LatAm portfolio.
In addition to business, I am passionate about transforming education. I am part of the team developing Ecuador’s first dual-education school, a pioneering initiative in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce and leading business leaders. This project is designed to revolutionize Ecuador’s education system by integrating academic learning with hands-on professional training, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in the workforce.
Committed to fostering entrepreneurship, I actively support and mentor founders through organizations such as Endeavor and Ashoka, helping mission-driven leaders develop market-based solutions that create meaningful change.
I have pursued executive education at Harvard Business School (OPM 60), Oxford, and ESADE, and hold a BA in Economics from Duke University and a BS in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Currently, I live in Madrid, Spain, with my wife and children, continuing to build and invest in ventures that shape the future of sustainable business, innovation, and education

Joanna is a life sciences professional with over ten years of experience in research, development, and alliance management. She currently serves as Executive Director, Head of Alliance Management, BD&L Animal Health at Boehringer Ingelheim, where she leads global partnerships that support the company’s Animal Health strategy.
Since joining Boehringer Ingelheim in 2015, Joanna has held various roles in internal consulting, biologics R&D, and CMC project management. Earlier in her career, she worked at BASF SE in scientific leadership roles and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Sanofi.
Joanna holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Berlin Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Bradford School of Management.

Chris runs his own business www.mentorservices.org.uk and manages a mentoring practice of some 30 clients at any one time. An Ashoka Senior Fellow, recognized by both the Skoll and Schwab Foundations as an awardee Social Entrepreneur, a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Culture), and made an MBE by HRH the Queen in 2000 for services to international disability, mental health, and development.

Dr. Ilka Wicke
Dr. Ilka Wicke is Global Head of Sustainability Social at Boehringer Ingelheim. She leads social engagement as part of Boehringer`s Sustainability Strategy with the commitment to improve the lives of 50 million people in vulnerable communities by 2030.
Integral part of Social Engagements is Making More Health (MMH), which is closely engaging with Social Entrepreneurs and supporting underserved communities in Kenya as well the Social Business initiative, grant-funding and investing into social start-ups in Africa.
She launched the Boehringer Ingelheim Social Engagement Fund (BI SE) in 2021 to support and scale social startups with financial and non-financial resources. Previously, she founded the Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF), which invests in early-stage biotech start-up`s as part of Boehringer external innovation strategy.
Dr. Wicke holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and conducted postdoctoral research in oncology at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
